A new start for children and youth in Kenya

Every child deserves a chance to learn, play and grow.

Wake Vocational Center is a start-up NGO opening doors for children and young people through education support, sports talent development and digital and AI learning.

Who we are

Wake Vocational Center is a community organisation built around a simple belief: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We work with children and young people who need support to stay in school, develop their gifts and prepare for the world of work — including the digital world.

We are starting small and honest. This site tells you what is running now, what is planned, and how you can help.

What we do

Three pillars guide our work, with a fourth in development. Each programme page says clearly what is running and what is planned.

About Environment

Why we started

Too many children leave school without the skills, confidence or support they need. Too many talented young athletes never meet a coach. And while the world moves toward digital and AI-driven work, many young people have never touched a computer.

Wake Vocational Center was founded to close those gaps — starting where we are, with what we have, and growing with our community.

Our plan for the first 12 months

A start-up earns trust by showing its plan. Here is what we are working toward.

  1. Months 1–3

    Foundation

Complete registration, recruit founding volunteers, and confirm a venue for learning sessions.

  2. Months 3–6

    First programmes

Begin weekend education support sessions and a first sports training group.

  3. Months 6–9

    Digital learning

Launch digital literacy sessions with donated laptops and tablets from our wish list.

  4. Months 9–12

    Review and grow

Report back to the community and partners, then expand what works.

Help us open the door

We are looking for volunteers, partner organisations and supporters who can give equipment, time or skills. Whether you can coach, teach, donate a laptop or simply spread the word — there is a place for you.
